HEC FAMILY

Membership CARE TEAM

The Bible records fifty-nine “One Another Scriptures.” These scriptures and many more speak to how we are to relate to one another in times of crisis, care, and celebration. Our care team consists of our elders, ministers, deacons, and staff who support one another to provide our members with consistent, intentional, and regular care using a three-point-of-contact “Touch System.”

Our Goal

At HEC, our goal is to foster a sense of community where people can experience life transformation together, living out our faith in a shared, biblical context. Ultimately, we want to be more like Jesus, love like Jesus, lead like Jesus and live on mission like Jesus. Sunday morning classes and groups are aimed at helping the whole family grow in Christ by applying the truth of the word of God to every area of life.  In addition to Sunday classes and groups, we offer other Right Now Media.

DISCIPLESHIP HAPPENS IN COMMUNITY

So you're interested in a Community Group?

Great! On this page, you’ll find out how to get connected, what happens each week in Groups, and why we believe they are essential to the life of a disciple of Jesus.

What are Community Groups?

Community Groups are intentional gatherings of 7-12 people (on average) that meet together once a week to encourage one another, live on mission together, study the Bible together, pray for each other, and build authentic Christian community. Groups gather in a variety of places over a course of 10-12 weeks at a time.

Why Community Groups?

We strongly believe that discipleship happens in community. At its core, this means that we were designed to follow Jesus in the context of relationships with other followers of Christ. Community Groups are about living on mission together, doing life together, growing together, and being transformed by the Gospel together.

The Holy Spirit will equip you and empower you to serve God. God commands us to continually be filled with the Holy Spirit. DISCIPLESHIP TRIADS

What are Discipleship Triads?

A Discipleship Triads are of 3-4 people of the same gender that meet weekly to grow in their faith while being transformed by Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:18-20)

These groups meet weekly for one hour to discuss life and the Scriptures together.Groups can meet anywhere they feel comfortable being transparent with each other about their spiritual journey and life in general.

All Discipleship Triads at HEC use the One A Day Plus Prayer reading plan. We read one chapter of scripture each day, journal our thoughts using the S.O.A.P. method, and pray for our day asking God to make us aware of those around us we can encourage with the Gospel.

A triad gathering begins with 20 minutes of personal sharing, followed by 30 minutes in the scriptures around the assigned reading for the day, sharing what was impressed on our heart, and then wrap up with 10 minutes of praying for each other and the lost people in our sphere of influence.

Anytime a group exceeds four (4) people, the Triad Leader will start preparing to multiple the group by raising up an Apprentice Leader and coach that person on starting and leading a new Discipleship Triad. (See 2 Timothy 2:2)

Once per quarter we gather all triad leaders and apprentice for a time of encouragement and training in the fundamentals of the faith, it’s a fun time to share how God is moving, talk about reproducing groups and celebrate those who have come to the faith.
