HEC KIDS RE-OPENING ON SUNDAYS!!

It is a joy to write to you to inform you of our official reopening of HEC Kids on Sundays. Through wisdom and prayer we believe that we can safely reopen with our first phase. While our primary goal is to maintain safety and health protocols for all our children, we also desire to engage our kids in age-appropriate lessons about God’s Word once more.

On Sunday, February 21st at the 10:30 A.M. service, we will have our first 2021 HEC Kids service. During this first phase of our re-opening, we will only have it open to children in grades Kindergarten to 2nd grade. The second phase will be to open for grades 3-4, and we will communicate when that time comes.

We will be training new servant leaders, both adults and our HEC Students (middle/high school), that will be in our classroom to lead, love, and teach our children God’s Word. The number of servants will depend on the Sundays that we will have available for children’s church to be open. If you’re interested in joining HEC Kids, please reach out to me and I would love to talk!

We ask for your continued prayers for wisdom and provision as we plan, prepare, and move forward. God is so good to us! We are blessed to be able to have such opportunities to care and shepherd the ones Jesus loves so much-children!

Blessings,

Sandy Yanes, Director

FEBRUARY 21 LESSON

Worship

Pray

  • Pray the Lord’s Prayer and ask God to fix your hearts and minds on Jesus and that He would bring revelations as you read His Word.

Bible Story

  • Read The Story and the Song (pages 12-17)

  • For older children, you can read this story in Psalms 19 & Hebrews 1

  • Pointing back to Jesus: Every story in the Bible tells us something about Jesus. Some of the stories may seem to be about nothing but rules. Some of them may seem to be a simple story of a great hero. Some of them may seem to be about us. But all of the Bible is about Jesus. Every story in the Bible whispers Jesus’ name.

Closing

  • From the story we learned that the Bible is not mainly about us; it’s about Jesus. It is not mainly about what we must do, but about what God has done.

  • What do we learn about God through this story? What do we learn about Jesus?

  • Who can we share this story with?

  • Who can I be praying for during this time?

  • Close in prayer

Games/Activities

  • Grab blank pages or index cards and write  the Old Testament books of the  bible on them. You can use the books of the bible contents page at the beginning to check or check out this YouTube video

  • The Story and the Song Activity
