In Humble and North East Harris County, each weekend a food bag costs approximately $3 adding up to $130 per year in support of one child. 100 % of donations raised stays in a designated account for Higher Expectations Blessings In A Backpack children
WHO WE SERVE:
Since 2006, Higher Expectations Community Church Blessings in a Backpack has been serving the children of Humble ISD. Children receiving our weekend food bags qualify for federal Free and Reduced Price Meal programs and are identified confidentially by school staff.
OUR VISION:
Our vision is to work collaboratively with community partner and schools to remove childhood hunger as a non-academic barrier to learning so that all children have the opportunity to experience academic success.

Our mission is to mobilize our community to provide food on the weekends and during school breaks for Humble children who might otherwise go hungry. Our mission serves to raise awareness of childhood hunger by building community and establishing relationships with our community and educational partners to improve the lives of children in Northeast Harris County.
